Phrases with Allah's name
Allah is Arabic for "God" and is the only god (monotheism) in the religion of Islam.
- Allahabad ("God's city"), a city in India.
- Allahu Akbar (الله اكبر ) (God is greater [than to be described])
- Bismillah (بسم الله ) (In the name of God)
- Ya Allah (يا الله )(Oh God)
- Hizb Allah (God's party), name of two political movements in Lebanon and in Turkey.
- Insha'Allah (ان شاء الله ) (God Willing)
- Masha Allah (مع شاء الله) (God has willed it) (Compare with Deus vult!)
- Subhan Allah (Glory be to God)

The Spanish word ojalá (I hope, I wish) is derived from law ?á lláh, a phrase meaning "God willing." It is one of many words borrowed from Arabic due to the Muslim occupation of Spain from the eighth to fifteenth centuries.
