In the fictional world of Star Trek, the "lirpa" is an ancient Vulcan weapon with a razor-sharp curved blade at one end and a heavy bludgeon on the other. Captain James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock used the lirpa when they fought for possession of T'Pring during Spock's Pon farr ritual on Planet Vulcan in 'Amok Time'.
