Lichtenfels is a community in the south of the old principalty of Waldeck. It was founded in 1971 with the villages of Sachsenberg, Goddelsheim, Fürstenberg, Münden, Dalwighstahl, Rhadern Neukirchen and Immighausen. The name "Lichtenfels" was taken from the Castle Lichtenfels in the middle of the community.
