While the company is consistently ranked in the top five of ERP vendors, they are generally a second tier provider overall.1 Lawson is considered the leader in certain sub-markets, principally service industries such as healthcare, education and financial institutions.
According to Computer World magazine, Lawson was the first ERP vendor to deliver a web-deployable software application.
Lawson Software was founded in 1975 by brothers Richard and Bill Lawson. The company is based in St. Paul, Minnesota. In fiscal year 2003, it reported total revenues of $344 million USD.
