Krishna Menon
Eminent Indian politician and freedom fighter.
During the British Raj in India, he was a champion of independence and nationalism. Afterwards, he became India's first High Commissioner to Britain and the Indian Minister of Defence. He lost the office of Minister of Defence after an unpopular decision in the Sino-Indian War. He also represented India in the United Nations and was an elected member of the Indian legislature
A close friend of the legendary Jawaharlal Nehru, he was born on May 3, 1897, in Calicut. He died on October 6, 1974.
