The Republic of Komi (Russian: Респ́ублика Ко́ми) is a federal subject of Russia in the Northwestern Federal District (a republic). At 415,900 km², it is Russia's 15th largest federal subject, but only the 54th most populous (1,018,674 inhabitants as per the 2002 census). Its capital is the city of Syktyvkar.
