Knole Settee

The original Knole Settee, a type of padded and upholstered lounge chair to seat two or three people was made between 1610 - 1620 for the great house of Knole in Kent. The actual upholstering on the original was in red velvet with red fringing, though later forms could be upholstered in any of several different materials.

It became the prototype for a style that became known as the Knole settee.
