Karl Zuchardt was a German writer, born in the German Empire in Leipzig, 1887 and died in 1968 in the then German Democratic Republic. He wrote mostly historical novels for which he received the Martin Andersen Nexø-Arts-Award from the city of Dresden in 1961. Some books by him are: Der Spiessrutenlauf; Stirb Du Narr (an account of Sir Thomas More's political life); Wie lange noch Bonaparte?
