June Whitfield

June Whitfield (November 11, 1925 - ) is a British comedienne who has appeared in many British comedies, playing opposite many male comedians, such as Frankie Howerd and Terry Scott (Terry and June). She was in the BBC radio series Take It From Here as Eth, Ron Glum's fiancee. She was also in the radio series The News Huddlines with Roy Hudd. She played the Edina's Mother in Absolutely Fabulous. She has also appeared as the Housekeeper on Friends. She has also played the more serious role of Miss Marple on BBC Radio 4.

As is the case with many stars of her era, like James Herriot actor Christopher Timothy or former Blue Peter presenters John Noakes or Peter Purves she can often be seen on satellite television advertising life insurance plans for the elderly.
