Julianne Moore (born Julie Anne Smith on December 3, 1960 in Fayetteville, North Carolina) is an American actress who first came to fame playing the Daytime Emmy Award-winning roles of Frannie and Sabrina Hughes on the soap opera As the World Turns. She played the twins from 1985 to 1988.
However, most know her today as a film actress. She was nominated for two Academy Awards in 2003: for Best Actress (Far From Heaven) and for Best Supporting Actress (The Hours). She was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a SAG award for her performances in Far From Heaven in 2003.
