John Sinclair



         




John McHardy Sinclair 1933- Professor of English Language at the University of Birmingham from 1965-2000 and founder of COBUILD, working in corpus linguistics.

Sir John Sinclair was Head of the Secret Intelligence Service from 19531956.

John Sinclair1941- Detroit Poet, Ex-Manager of the MC5 Ex-Chairman of the White Panther Party from 1968-1969; Jailed during 1969 over the sale of two joints to undercover narcotics officers. Would be sentenced to ten years in prison and would serve two years before John Lennon came to his aid and performed at a rally in Ann Arbor on his behalf. He later moved to New Orleans and participated in the music scene there.
