John Branch (14 November 1782–4 January 1863) was the Democratic-Republican governor of the U.S. state of North Carolina from 1817 to 1820. Branch then served as a U.S. Senator from 1823 to 1829 and as Secretary of the Navy under President Andrew Jackson from 1829 until 1831. He was later appointed Governor of Florida by President John Tyler and served from 1844 to 1845.
