John Bradfield

John Job Crew Bradfield (December 26, 1867 - September 23, 1943) was an engineer who designed the Sydney Harbour Bridge and had a grand vision for Sydney's train system that has only partially been undertaken.

Other accomplishments include the design of the William Jolly bridge in Brisbane, which, like the Sydney Harbour Bridge, was opened in 1932. He also designed the Cataract and Burrinjuck Dams.

Born in Sandgate, Brisbane, he received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in 1889 from the University of Sydney, and a Master of Engineering in 1896. He married Eileen Jenkins in 1891, and had six children by her.
