Jim Shea



         


Jim Shea (born ) won the gold medal in the sport of skeleton at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. He is a third-generation Olympian; His father Jim Sr., competed in nordic-combined at the 1964 games and grandfather Jack Shea won two gold medals in speedskating at the 1932 Olympics, which were held in Shea's home town of Lake Placid, New York. Like his grandfather, Shea also recited the athlete's oath at the opening ceremonies.
