Jesse Ferguson

Jesse Ferguson is a boxer who fought Mike Tyson in Tyson's first televised bout. The fight took place in 1986 at RPI's field house. It was also Tyson's first win by anything other than knockout, although it still did not go the distance. Ferguson was disqualified in the 6th round because, after being floored by a trademark Tyson uppercut in the fifth which broke his nose, he simply refused to break clinches with Tyson, trying to just hold on rather than fight. After a few minutes of having to physically pull Ferguson from Tyson, the referee disqualified Ferguson and declared Tyson the winner.
