Jefferson Memorial Forest



         


Jefferson Memorial Forest is a 5,500-acre woodland tribute to Kentucky's veterans; it is located in the southern suburbs of Louisville, Kentucky. Locals call it the nation's largest urban forest. Designated as a National Audubon Society wildlife refuge, the forest boasts more than 30 miles of hiking trails, educational programs, a nature center, a fishing lake, and more. It is a popular field trip destination for Louisville schools. The property is operated as parkland by Louisville Metro Government.
