Sir Jack Hobbs (1882-1963) played cricket for Cambridgeshire, Surrey and England.
He retired in 1934 after playing 61 Test Matches between 1908 and 1930, with a career first class batting average of 50.65 and 197 centuries. This was despite the interruption in his career due to World War I, during which he served in the Royal Flying Corps as an Air Mechanic. He toured Australia five times during his career and was voted Wisden's Cricketer of the Year in 1909 and 1926 (when he was 44), and one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Century in 2000.
