J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.
JPMorgan Chase (known as J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. from 2000 to 2004) is a worldwide provider of banking and investment services. J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. is a global financial services firm with operations in more than 50 countries. The company's NYSE ticker symbol is JPM. Before the merger with Bank One, the company's wholesale businesses was comprised of four segments:
- Investment Bank (IB), which provides investment banking and commercial banking products and services.
- Treasury & Securities Services (TSS), whose three businesses provide debt servicing, securities custody and related functions, and treasury and cash management services to corporations, financial institutions and governments.
- Investment Management & Private Banking (IMPB) which provides investment management services to institutional investors, high net worth individuals and retail customers.
- JPMorgan Partners (JPMP), which is the Company's private equity business.
Since the merger, the entire bank has been re-organized along six divisions:
- Asset & Wealth Management
- Card Services
- Commercial Banking
- Investment Banking
- Retail Financial Services
- Treasury & Securities Services
The Company's national consumer and middle market businesses, which provide lending and full-service banking to consumers and small and middle market businesses, collectively comprise Chase Financial Services.
It was created by the merger of J.P. Morgan and Chase Manhattan Bank in 2000. It acquired the Chicago-based Bank One on July 1, 2004. The firm is based in New York City, with offices worldwide. The current CEO of the firm is William B. Harrison, Jr. Former Bank One CEO Jamie Dimon is expected to succeed Harrison upon retirement.
