Ismail Tiliwaldi (born November, 1944, born in Shufu) is the chairman of the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China.
An Uighur, Tiliwaldi began working in 1967 and joined the Communist Party of China in May 1973. He graduated from the University of Xinjiang with a degree in mathematics.
In January 2003, he was elected as chairman of the Xinjiang region at the first session of the tenth Xinjiang People's Congress.
He is an alternate member of the 16th CPC Central Committee, and has been since 2002.
Prior to becoming chairman of the Xinjiang region, Tiliwaldi's postings included deputy chief and chief of the Personnel Department for the Keshen Prefecture, deputy commissioner of Keshen, deputy secretary of Keshen Prefectural Party Committee, commissioner of Keshen, secretary-general for the Xinjiang Autonomous Regional Government, deputy political commissar of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps of the Army, standing committee member of the CPC Xinjiang Autonomous Regional Committee and deputy secretary of the stub.
