Irresistible Bliss

Irresistible Bliss was Soul Coughing's 1996 (see 1996 in music) sophomore album. This record differed from 1994's Ruby Vroom in that it had a greater focus on melody rather than rhythm and a slower, more quiet feel. The sound also tended to move further from jazz and closer to the popular music of the time: though most would not call it a guitar-oriented album, M. Doughty's electric rhythm-work appeared more often and higher in the mix, possibly helping to make Irresistible Bliss Soul Coughing's most popularly well-received album.
