Irish Land League



         


The Irish Land League was a political movement in Ireland during the late 19th century, led by Charles Stewart Parnell and was partly funded by donations from North America.

Its members campaigned for reform of land ownership in Ireland, which had hitherto been dominated by absentee landlords from England. It organised boycotts against notorious landlords, encouraged the defiant burning of leases, and had its members physically block evictions.
