Interstate 96



         


Interstate 96 is an intrastate Interstate highway entirely within the state of Michigan. Its western terminus is U.S. Highway 31, on the western boundary of Norton Shores southeast of Muskegon. Its eastern terminus is Interstate 75 near the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit. From Detroit to Grand Rapids, it parallels Grand River Avenue, never straying more than a few miles from the decommisioned U.S. Highway 16.

In Detroit, I-96 is known as the Jeffries Freeway from its eastern terminus to the junction with Interstate 275 and M-14.
