Inert gas

An inert gas is a non-reactive gas and is usually a member of the noble gas family.

Helium, neon and argon are the only true inert gases as they do not form any true compounds with other elements like the heavier noble gases.

Examples include: helium, neon, argon, xenon, krypton, and radon.
