Inari, Finland



         


Inari (Enare in Swedish) is a municipality in Finland. The municipality was established in 1876. The largest villages of the municipality are Ivalo, with a population of 3,998, and Inari, with a population of 1,128.

It is located in Finnish Lapland. The municipality has a total population of 7,268 and covers an area of 17,321.32 km² of which 2,148.51 km² is water. It is the largest municipality in Finland. The population density is 0.5 inhabitants per km².

The municipality has four official languages: Finnish, Inari Saami (900 speakers), Skolt Saami (600 speakers) and Northern Saami (700 speakers).

Finland's largest National Park Lemmenjoki is partly located in Inari, as is the Urho Kekkonen National Park.
