Iain Dowie is a former professional football player who is currently manager of Crystal Palace F.C.. He was also a Northern Ireland internationalist, winning 59 caps.
His playing career, where he played as a striker, included spells at Luton Town, West Ham Utd, Southampton, QPR and Crystal Palace.
He was appointed manager of Crystal Palace in the middle of season 2003\04 with them badly struggling. However, he managed them to a fantastic run and finsihed in sixth place in the then Nationwide First Division. This meant that they would contest the play-offs for a place in the Premiership and after beating Sunderland in the semi-final. They then beat West Ham in the final thereby reaching the premiership.
