Humanzee
The humanzee is a hypothetical human/chimpanzee hybrid. Humans and chimpanzees are very closely related, leading to specualtion that a hybrid is possible, though most scientists would likely regard this a highly unlikely.
There has been no scientifically verified specimen, although one, a performing chimp named Oliver, was popularized during the 1970s as a possible humanzee. Genetic tests conducted at The University of Chicago conclued that, despite Oliver's atypical appearace and behavior, he was a normal chimpanzee. The "hybrid" claims were possibly a promotional gimmick.
However, there have been rumors of humanzees reportedly "for centuries".
These rumors are, to date, unsupported, and are likely best classified as legends.
