Hoshyar Zebari



         


Hoshyar Zebari (b. 1953) is the current Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, part of the cabinet appointed by the Interim Iraq Governing Council in September 2003. A Kurd originally from Aqrah, Zebari holds a masters degree in sociology from the University of Essex in England and studied political science in Jordan. He was the foreign spokesperson for the Kurdistan Democratic Party in the 1990s and represented the organization to Britain and the United States.
