Horse Feathers (1932) is a Marx Brothers film, their fourth. It centers around, among other things, college football and a game between the fictional Darwin and Huxley Colleges. Many of the jokes about the amateur status of collegiate football players and how eligibility rules are stetched by collegiate athletic departments remain remarkably current. Groucho, as a new dean, makes the famed announcement over the intercom, "It's come to my attention that there are entirely too many of your standing around in the hall. From now on, anyone caught in the halls will be shot." Also, this film contains the famous scene between Chico and Harpo in which Harpo pulls out of his coat a pun on every object Chico mentions, including a candle burning at both ends.
