HK P11

The HK P11 is a special operations pistol designed by Heckler & Koch to fire underwater.

While very little is known about this pistol, it is known is that it will fire five shots, after which the upper unit must be sent back to the HK factory in Germany for reloading and resealing.

Designed in the 1970s, it entered service in 1976. It has never been officially acknowledged by HK. It fires darts of 7.62 x 36 caliber. The effective range of the P11 is reported at 30 meters above water, with a report barely louder than an MP5SD. Underwater, the effective range is said to be 10-15 meters.

The P11 is said to be in service with the British Special Air Service, German combat divers, and 100 units to the U.S. Special Ops forces. It is also said to be in use by Norwegian, Israeli, Dutch, and Danish combat divers.

It has made appearances in the movie Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life and the television show Alias.
