Highbury & Islington station

Highbury & Islington station is mainline and London Underground zone 2 station, to the north of London.

It is on the Victoria Line, between Finsbury Park and Kings Cross St Pancras, as well as the Network Rail North London Line and the Northern City Line which carries WAGN services between Moorgate and Welwyn Garden City or Hertford via Finsbury Park. The Victoria line opened on September 1, 1968.

Highbury & Islington station will be the northern terminus of the East London Line when its northern extension is built. Islington Council is currently considering redeveloping the site of the station, and Highbury Corner generally, including possibly covering over the North London Line tracks and building an office block above it.

The station was called Highbury Station when it opened in June 1904 and added the & Islington in July 1922.
