Herentals is a municipality located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the Flemish province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the city of Herentals proper and the towns of Morkhoven and Noorderwijk. On January 1st, 2000 Herentals had a total population of 25,474 (12,576 males and 12,898 females). The total area is 48.01 km² which gives a population density of 530.60 inhabitants per km².
