A handstand is the act of standing erect, but upside down, with one's hands on the ground and feet in the air. Performing a handstand requires good upper body strength.

Those who have never done a handstand before might want to use a wall or other support to lean against, thus reducing the amount of weight upon the arms and making it easier to maintain balance.
