Hampton Beach
Hampton Beach
Hampton Beach is on the lower portion of the measly 18 costal miles New Hampshire has. Alive during only the summer months, this tourist trap is cramped with low quality shanties along the water's edge. Large strips three layers wide in from the ocean provide veritable vices in many flavors: alcohol, tattoos, gambling, and skantily clad Harley Davidson bikers are found ubiquitously. The beach itself is polluted horribly with refuse materials; walking the beach barefoot will yield several small cuts from bottles, wrappers, and near bio-waste. A 15 minute jaunt up Route 1A, which hugs the ocean, will bring you to many cleaner locations, more notably up into Maine, which evidently places much more emphasis on keeping their beaches sanitary.
