Halifax Town A.F.C. are an English football team currently playing in the Nationwide Conference.
The club was formed in 1911, and were one of the founder members of Football League Third Division North in 1921, and remained in that division until restructuring in 1958. By the late 1980s they had become stuck in the lower reaches of the Fourth Division, and were relegated to the Conference in 1993. Despite several poor seasons, they won promotion back to the League in 1998, only to be relegated again in 2002. As of 2004, they are the only club to relegated to the Conference twice.
