Guy Debord



         


Guy Debord (December 28, 1931-November 30, 1994), the son of Paulette Rossi and Martial Debord. He was a member of the Lettrist International, Socialisme ou Barbarie and the Situationist International. He wrote the book and .

Among many things, he is known for his criticisms of anarchism, bureaucracy, surrealism, and automatic writing. He believed in the idea of workers councils as the optimal form of governence. Also known for being one of the ideological catalysts for the May 1968 revolution centered around Nantes, in Paris.

One of his earliest books was bound with a sandpaper cover so that it would destroy other books placed next to it.

He committed suicide on November 30, 1994.
