Greg Raymer

Greg "Fossilman" Raymer is a professional poker player.

Raymer won the largest cash prize in a poker tournament ever, 5 million dollars, by winning the 2004 World Series of Poker main event. Raymer won his entry to the tournament by playing in a satellite event on Pokerstars.com, just like the 2003 winner, Chris Moneymaker.

Despite being relatively unknown, Raymer had seven money finishes prior to his WSOP win, including winning a 7 card stud tournament in 2001. Because of the large amount of the 2004 WSOP main event prize, after winning the event, he immediately became the top money winning tournament poker player of all time with $5.1 million -- ahead of Phil Hellmuth by nearly half a million dollars.

He is nicknamed "Fossilman" due to his hobby of collecting fossils.

He is a patent lawyer who works in Stonington, Connecticut.
