The Great Blizzard of 1993 was one of the most powerful blizzards in the United States.
Beginning on March 13, 1993, the blizzard was characterized by massive snowfall, the unusual phenomenon of thundersnow (lightning during a snowstorm), whiteout conditions, and tornados in Florida.
Twenty-six states were impacted by this massive storm, and the bulk the affected area saw snow.
