Gorani, sometimes also called Hewrami, the dialect of a small group of Kurds in the province of Kermanshah, Iran and in the Hewraman mountains between Iran and Iraq.
The dialect is considered to be close to Zazaki. The oldest literary documents in Kurdish language are written in Gorani. Many speaker of this dialect belong to the religious grouping Ahl-e Haqq, with many religious documents writen in this dialect.
Since the 19. Century Gorani is becoming slowly replaced by the Sorani dialect both in Iran and in Iraq. This change has a lot to do with growing influence of main stream Sunni Islam over Ahl-Haqqd Kurds
