GM A platform

The General Motors A platform a.k.a. A-Body was a front wheel drive platform built from 1982 to 1996. A-Body cars include the Chevrolet Celebrity, Pontiac 6000, Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera and Buick Century. The A-Body consisted of 4-Door Sedan, 2-Door Sedan and Station Wagon bodystyles.

This FWD A-Body was designed to replace the old rear wheel drive A-body cars, such as the Chevrolet Chevelle. The RWD A-Body was to be discontinued for 1982, but due to high sales was kept on and re-named G-Body.
