George Poindexter



         




George Poindexter (1779–September 5, 1853) was a American politician. He served as the Governor of Mississippi from 1820 to 1822 and was a U.S. Senator from Mississippi from 1830 to 1835. He served as the president pro tempore of the Senate in 1834.
