Gentofte is a municipality in eastern Denmark, in the county of Copenhagen on the island of Zealand. The municipality covers an area of 26 km², and has a total population of 67,957. Gentofte is devided into 7 smaller districts(due to post service): Charlottenlund, Gentofte, Hellerup, Ordrup, Vangede, Klampenborg and Dyssegård.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich is probably Gentofte's most famous son, at least among the younger generations.
