The General Convention of The Episcopal Church takes place every three years, the most recent being in August, 2003 in Minneapolis, where Gene Robinson was confirmed to be the first openly gay bishop in the Episcopal Church, threatening a schism in the church. The next General Convention will take place in Columbus, Ohio on June 13 - June 21, 2006.
