Gen language



         


Gen (also called Gẽ, Gen-Gbe, or Mina) is a Gbe language spoken in the southeast of Togo and in the Mono province of Benin. It is part of the Kwa sub-family of the major African Niger-Congo language family. Like the other Gbe languages, Gen is a tonal language. According to there are 200 900 Mina-speakers in Togo and another 126 000 in Benin (total: 327 000).
