Gary George Pettis (born April 3, 1958) was a professional baseball player who played in the outfield for the California Angels, Detroit Tigers, Texas Rangers, and San Diego Padres during the 1980s and early 1990s.
Gary was drafted in the 6th round of the 1979 draft by the California Angels and spent eleven years in the major league. He did not hit well and was known for striking out often, but he performed extremely well in the outfield--earning five Golden Glove awards. Additionally, he was a profilic base runner and had five seasons where he stole over 40 bases.
