Lieutenant-Colonel Frederick Gerard Peake was a British commander and creator of the Arab Legion. Autumn 1920 Peake left the Egyption Camel Corps to report on the security situation in Mandate of Palestine. The situation was found to be insufficent and in October the same year Peake was ordered by the Jerusalem-Amman road.
In 1939, he retired and was succeded by Glubb Pasha. To the Jordanians he became known as "Peake Pasha".
