Fred Kavli is a Norwegian physicist, business leader, innovator, and philanthropist. He received a physics degree from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim. He immigrated to the United States in 1956 to launch a business and two years later founded the Kavlico Corporation, located in Moorpark, California. Under his leadership, the company became one of the world's largest suppliers of sensors for aeronautic, automotive, and industrial applications.
He has donated 100 million dollars to fund research institutions in the US and Netherlands.
