The plumeria, or frangipani flower is native to tropical climates such as the Pacific and Indian Ocean islands, Caribbean, South America and Mexico. They grow as either shrubs or trees, and the flowers are known for their strong fragrance.
Plumeria are well known for being used in Hawaiian leis.
