Frances Fisher



         


Frances Fisher (born May 11, 1952 in Milford on Sea, Hampshire, United Kingdom) is an American actress.

She first made a name for herself playing Deborah Saxon on the soap opera The Edge of Night from 1976 to 1981. Her acting career went into a decline in the 1980s and stayed that way until she was cast as Lucille Ball in the television movie 1991.

She has played numerous roles on American television, including parts in the series Strange Luck, Becker, and Titus. She also played a key role in the recent television drama The Lyon's Den. Her most famous role, however, has been that of Ruth DeWitt Bukater, mother of Rose (Kate Winslet), in the movie Titanic.

Fisher was involved with actor Clint Eastwood and gave birth to their child, Francesca Ruth.
