The Fourth Coalition was an alliance organized against Napoleon's Empire of France in 1806-1807. Coalition partners included Great Britain, Prussia, Russia, Saxony, and Sweden.
Many members of the coalition had previously been fighting France as part of the Third Coalition, and there was no intervening period of peace. France rapidly defeated Prussia at the battles of Jena and Auerstadt, and subsequently occupied Prussia, defeated Russia at Friedland, and signed the Treaty of Tilsit, inflicting a humiliating peace on Prussia and ending the war with Russia.
