Flag of Missouri

The flag of Missouri consists of the state seal centered on horizontal red, white, and blue stripes. The colors of the flag reflect the state's historic status as part of the French Louisiana Territory. The seal is surrounded by 24 stars, symbolic of Missouri as the 24th state to join the union. The current flag was adopted in 1913.
